Procurement Manager
I joined Tenet Education Services in October 2020 as a full time Procurement Consultant, covering the Midlands region. Since starting, I've worked as part of Tenet's "On Demand" team, which is responsible for delivering ad-hoc tendering requirements across the Education sector. Starting a new job at any time is daunting but starting a new job during a pandemic and with the country in lockdown, was a whole different ball game! However, the onboarding process was smooth sailing, the assistance provided by HR and IT was fantastic and I was welcomed into my team with open arms! Working within Tenet's On Demand team I manage a variety of one off tendering projects on behalf of our clients. Tendering requirements can vary including Building Cleaning Services, Grounds Maintenance, HR & Payroll software and Refurbishment works to name but a few. No two projects are ever quite the same!
Within my role I use a variety of different procurement processes including Open & Restricted FTS procedures, Further Competitions and RFQs. I manage the Client's tender process from start to finish, from collating initial requirements and building tender documents, to issuing formal feedback letters and drafting the contract for signature. I primarily work from home but frequently travel across the Midlands (and further occasionally!) to visit clients, conduct site visits and host presentations. Being able to work from home enables me to manage my work life balance and allows me the flexibility to fit work around life and not life around work!
Tenet have supported me through my CIPS qualifications and I am due to complete my Level 5 qualification soon. I’ll then move onto my final Level 6 qualification, which will be funded by the company, in addition to time off work to complete my exams. I can honestly say that I've never enjoyed a job more and love working with my colleagues within the On Demand team and across the wider company. Working with Tenet has built not only my knowledge and experience, but my self-confidence too, which is truly invaluable. I'm excited about my future with Tenet and the opportunities available to me!
