£20,000 grant awarded to Carr Hill High School

The school were awarded funding to use towards a set of new Chromebooks for their students which will support new innovative approaches to teaching.

A funding opportunity available through CPL Group has provided Carr Hill High School and their students with resources that will help to enhance technology-based learning in a number of subjects for both current and future students.

Carr Hill High School applied to the CPL Group charity for student event and activity sponsorship. The school were awarded the maximum funding value of £20,000 to use towards a set of new Chromebooks for their students which will assist in supporting innovative approaches to teaching and learning. The Chromebooks will provide students with the opportunity to engage with technology in the classroom across a variety of curriculum areas within the school.

The school used the CPC Desktop Hardware framework to purchase the Chromebooks and by using the framework they were able to buy more than they initially thought the £20,000 would be able to fund!

Pat Condon, Head of Procurement at Crescent Purchasing Consortium (CPC), part of CPL Group visited the school on Tuesday 8th October to meet with the staff and students and present a cheque for £20,000.

Carr Hill High School’s School Business Manager, Mrs Childs said:

The funding we have been awarded is going to play a huge part in the future of technology-based learning at Carr Hill not only for students here today but those joining us in the future. We are thrilled to have received this funding and to have the chance to give our students access to so many enhanced learning opportunities as a result of it.

Peter Brewer, Managing Director at CPL Group said:

CPL Group having allocated £375,000 to this project are delighted to make this award to Carr Hill High School who as a qualifying CPC member applied to us to help support their students with the provision of Chromebooks. CPC members were able to apply for funding for projects ranging from £100-£20,000. We know that this donation will make a considerable difference to Carr Hill High School and their students and we look forward to making a significant number of other awards to CPC members in the near future.
