Introduction to Procurement

Five e-learning modules that cover the fundamental principles of procurement and has been designed for Business Managers and those new to procurement.

Course overview

This e-learning training programme has been developed by CPL Group in collaboration with Disrupt Learning and Education Limited.  The course is a fully CPD accredited training programme that covers the fundamental principles of good procurement practice in the Education sector.

Who would benefit from attending?

The course has been designed for Business Managers, budget holders and those who are new to procurement.

Core development objectives

The course programme features five e-learning modules that cover the fundamental principles of good procurement practice. It has been specifically designed to provide an understanding of best practice procurement to enable you to feel more confident when dealing with procurement related enquiries and projects within your institution. The five module objectives include:

  • Introduction to Procurement
  • Understanding the fundamental principles
  • Ensuring legal compliance with procurement Legislation
  • Stakeholder engagement and effective contract management
  • Sources of information and support

Once completed you will be able to download a fully CPD endorsed certificate of completion for your records. 

Please note that following the extrication of the UK from the EU this year, EU Procurement regulations will still continue to apply with the thresholds shown within this training. The new regulations are not scheduled to be live until September 2023 and any reference to EU Regulations is now encapsulated as "The Public Contracts Regulations.

Course length

Each module will take between 30 – 75 minutes to complete and each module has a short multiple choice/true or false test at the end that you will be required to pass to move to the next module.   You can exit at any point and your progress is saved for the next time that you are able to log back in.  You will be allocated 4 weeks to complete free of charge.  Please note, you will be charged for the course if not completed after 4 weeks.
